Experiencing Newness

Life is. If it were not, nothing would exist, not you, not me, not the countless life forms inhabiting Earth or even Earth itself. Nothing. Yet we do exist and we are conscious of our existence, conscious of the Life-force that flows through our being, its vital energy animating us and everything in the observable universe, including the galaxies of stars beaming their light to Earth, stars that may or may not still exist in their gaseous exuberant state. But regardless of their current state or ours, the Life-force that creates and maintains all existence, is. It exists, ever and always.

The question is: how are we experiencing this Life? How are we experiencing the flow of vital energy that enables us to be, to live, to function effortlessly and create with ease? To what degree can we feel this energy flowing through our being, urging us to live life to the fullest? Are we wide open to its creative impulsions, allowing them to illumine us with ideas that will brighten and benefit our lives and the lives of others? Are we fully receptive to the influx of its energy, willingly letting it permeate all the aspects of our being, refreshing and revitalizing each and every one of them, malleable enough to experience it regenerating our cells, invigorating our bodies so we can function with effortless ease? If not, why not? If Life’s creative force is forever imbuing us with new life, what could possibly prevent our experiencing the fullness of this new life? What could seem to block or diminish it in some way?

Space and time. The collective belief that we have drifted off the focal point of optimum receptivity and are currently receiving Life’s input from the position of our drift, that our reception of Life’s vitalizing energy has diminished in proportion to the distance we have drifted, reaching us in the delay we experience as time. It is as simple and complex as that. Our inadvertent collective acceptance of space and time is inhibiting our experience of Life, reducing it to a state in which the fullness of Life seems unavailable, one or more aspect of our lives seeming to be a struggle, this struggle lasting until our life seems to end. But does it have to be a struggle? Are we not in control of how we experience life? Despite the fact that space-time is an ingrained collectively accepted state of man’s current perception of reality, can we not burst its bubble? I believe we can and that others before us have. We need only to be willing to return to the focal point of optimum receptivity, moving into deep spiritual center to get there.

Every moment we have a choice. We can respond to the external projections created by the distortions arising from space-time or we can respond to the deeper underlying images and impressions being generated by Life, trusting that these deeper, more accurate, impressions are not only real, but that they have the innate power to dissolve whatever is inaccurate in the world we are observing, altering our experience in the process. Is this not what Jesus and other spiritually discerning individuals understood? Were they not able to so connect with the regenerating source of Life they could demonstrate the validity of its continuous renewal in themselves and others? They could. And so can we if we are willing to go to Life for our informational input, imbibing and focusing on this input until it is more real to us than the distorted picture resulting from our drift, transforming our experience and that of others in the process. We have the capacity to access the regenerating power of Life, overriding the distortions space-time is creating, experiencing the joy and freedom of continually being new.

Handling space-time is tricky though. For it operates under the radar, without our being aware of it. It can influence us as powerfully as the DNA that programs our predilections or as subtly as the thoughts, feelings and emotions passing through our minds, hearts and bodies, yesterdays thoughts, feelings and emotions creating todays reality. The fact is, any memory tie we have to the past has the capacity to bind us to the past, causing us to relive it in one way or another. Even if the memories we are attached to are good ones, we must realize they are keeping us from fully engaging in the present and that the degree of our inability to be fully present is inhibiting our reception of the vital energy pouring into us from Life, energy intended for our creative renewal and benefit. In essence, the chords binding us to the past are robbing us of the fullness of our natural renewal, inhibiting the infusion of new ideas and inspiration Life intends for us, stunting our growth, imperiling our cells, curtailing our opportunities and negatively affecting our relationships. It is a thief in the night, coming in secret, holding us back from the life we are meant to live, a blissful life, free of time.

Thereby, if we would be new, we must be willing to detach from the past, transferring the full focus of our attention and allegiance to the present. Which also requires that we not give our hearts to the imaginings of a fanciful or frightful future, for those imaginings impose themselves on the quality of our life as insidiously as the past does. Life is progressive. It does change. But we do not determine the nature of those changes, only the way we experience them. If we are willing to take a leap of faith and follow Life’s divine impulsions, going wherever they lead, we will be blessed. Of this I am certain. If not, we will be forced down the road of progress, experiencing the downside caused by our resistance or the willful directions we impose in its place, those that lead us further from center and have the capacity to induce hatred and fear, the most insidious inhibitors of all. Life will surprise us as it takes us forward. How we experience this surprise is up to us. If we are willing to adapt to the newness Life is bringing, good things will occur, each blessing us and the world in more ways than we can imagine. On the other hand, if we go against the flow of Life or resist it by holding on to the status quo or the past, Life will force us to move forward, the power of that force yanking out of our comfort zone, causing us to suffer. We may blame Life for our suffering, but, in truth, it is our own resistance and willfulness that causes us to suffer. Life knows nothing about it. It only knows what it is, what it does, how it evidences and how it is eternally renewing its creation.

Life, eternal, divine, supreme and infinite Life exists in a state of spontaneous generation, one in which it is forever recreating the universe of being, enlivening every facet of it, including you and me, infusing us with new life, new vitality and energy, invigorating us as its Life-force permeates our being. May we understand this, letting the light of this understanding shore up the distance of our drift, dissolving the distortions the drift is creating, healing us, transforming our interpretation and experience of life, filling us with new insights, inspiration, calmness and joy, giving us healthy bodies and the harmonious relationships Life intends for us. May we live as Life intends, our being spontaneously regenerating now and forever.
